Patients who have been injured in a road/transport accident may be entitled to physiotherapy treatment paid for by the TAC. You can commence physiotherapy immediately after your accident but will be required to keep all receipts for future reimbursement purposes. After your claim has been approved you will be provided with a claim number which will allow you to commence fully funded physiotherapy sessions. The TAC has recently removed its medical excess for accidents on or after 14 February 2018. This means that TAC patients no longer have to pay a portion of their medical expenses before the TAC covers the costs.
Patients who have been injured at work may be entitled to physiotherapy treatment paid for by WorkCover. If you have been injured at work, you are eligible to lodge a WorkCover claim. As with TAC patients, physiotherapy can commence immediately after your workplace injury. It is advisable to maintain all receipts for future reimbursement purposes. If your claim is approved you will be provided with a claim number which will allow you to commence fully funded physiotherapy sessions. Your physiotherapy rehabilitation will be designed to return you to work as soon and as safely as possible.
